Former Smash Mouth lead signer Steve Harwell has entered hospice care. This development comes as a result of an extended struggle with various health problems, that led to Harwell's retirement from music in 2021.
On Sunday, the band's manager, Robert Hayes, shared the sad news that Harwell is now in a hospice, being looked after by his fiancee, as he faces the final stages of chronic liver failure, with just around a week left to live.
"Steve's iconic voice is one of the most recognizable voices from his generation," Haye said.
"Steve loved the fans and loved to perform. Although Steve is here with us still, sadly it will only be for a short time.
"My only additional comment is that we would hope that people would respect Steve and his family's privacy during this difficult time."
