David Spade Rocks Mullet on First Day of Shoot

Joe Dirt is back, and his grooming choices are as questionable as ever.

David Spade posted an Instagram photo Monday of himself in costume on the first day of shooting for his film Joe Dirt 2. Spade’s outfit included his character’s signature sideburns and mullet.

“Day 1. Lets get this shit started! #imjoedirt #whatscrappenin,” Spade captioned the pic, adding hashtags with quotes from the original film.

The follow-up to the 2001 comedy about a less-than-brilliant man who searches for his biological parents is currently filming on location in Louisiana. It will debut in 2015 on all Crackle platforms.

On Sunday night, the Rules of Engagement and Saturday Night Live alum posted a photo to Instagram of his dog in bed, with the caption: “Here is me laying in bed, thinking about the first day of shooting tomorrow. And snausages. #scared.”

Joe Dirt grossed $27 million domestically on an estimated $17.7 million budget.
